Pick Your Variety

Not all tomatoes are created equal.

In the Valley, look for heat-tolerant, fast-maturing varieties like:

• ‘Celebrity’ or ‘Heatmaster’ (great slicers)

• ‘Juliet’ or ‘Sweet 100’ (cherry-style winners)

• Uncommon varieties like ‘Indigo Rose’ or ‘Black Krim’ (because weird = wonderful)

Make sure you’re planting the right variety for the season, early spring and early fall are your windows.

Give Them What They Need

Sun, space, and just the right amount of love.

Tomatoes need:

• 6–8 hours of full sun

• Consistent watering (deep and not too frequent)

• Support: think cages or stakes

• Well-draining soil with compost or organic fertilizer
